Dave Menicucci owns and operates Building Specialists, Inc. He is a retired research engineer from Sandia National Laboratories. Most of his 27 years at Sandia was spent in investigative research--photovoltaics, concentrating solar power, solar hot water/pools, and microgrids. His degreed educational fields include climatology, engineering, technology development, and marketing.

In the 1970s he worked as a research associate for R&D Associates and earlier as a meteorologist for the US Air Force. Since 1985 he has operated BSI as a part-time business.

His experience includes technical assistance, engineering design, scientific and engineering research, forensic investigations, statistical analysis, computer modeling, noise abatement, traffic engineering, field testing, technology marketing, construction, and building science. He is also proficient in a number of trades including metal, wood, plumbing, electrical, electronics, framing, concrete, and masonry.

Dave has exerience in forensic investigations including expert witness testimony in Federal Court. Applicable to this work, he holds a Master's Degree in electrical engineering and is licensed and experienced as a electrical contractor.

He was awarded a US patent and is conversant in Spanish.

Dave has published frequently in various venues including peer reviewed technical journals, popular technical journals, magazines, conference papers and newspapers. He has published one book. See some samples.

He is married with two grown children. He is a licensed NM general and electrical contractor (Lic #52792)
